DESCRIPTION

The Clinical Nurse Educator III is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating education and training for all new hires and current team members in the CVICU. Is an integral part of the CVICU leadership team and collaborates closely with the CVICU management team and the nurse educator assigned to the department from EDR. Responsible for onboarding all career and contract labor RNs to the unit. Leads implementation of new education, projects, and programs on the unit. Supports the staff by mentoring and coaching. Participates in unit and organizational committees which enhance the quality of patient care.

Applies skills and experience as a seasoned nurse educator to ensure optimal clinician knowledge and skills through education and training in CVICU nursing education and / or training. Leads implementation of new programs and initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

  • Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Three (3+) or more years of relevant ICU RN experience.

  • Demonstrated hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.

  • Proven knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of delivering clinical nursing education and training material for orientation and skills/competency learning and leadership development.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of a broad spectrum of professional nursing practices and issues.

  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications. Ability to collaborate productively in a team environment with all levels of internal and external personnel and to convey complex clinical information in a clear, concise manner.

  • Thorough knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide education, training, and resources, and to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Previous experience as a clinical educator or clinical instructor.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
